2020 certainly hasn’t been the year we all expected.  Here at the Chelsea Adult Learners Institute (ALI) we entered the year poised to grow our offerings and consider new ways of meeting the needs of our engaged and curious community.  By spring, our plans, like yours, had changed completely.

ALI responded, by moving classes online, and by Fall was able to offer a mix of online and in person (socially distanced) classes.  In order to ensure that no one would be left out, we’ve also made a decision to waive our class fees for 2020 Winter/Spring and Fall.

Thank you for your enthusiastic response to these changes.  To date, Fall classes have seen 138 registrations, many of you have contributed as you registered, and we look forward to continued robust participation as Winter sets in.  We have invested in the technology that allows you to access our classes and connect with your community from the safety of your home, wherever you may find yourself.

These changes come with a cost, both in lost revenue and in expenses for new technology to support our online instructors.  And, so, we are asking you to include ALI in your 2020 year-end giving.

Your gift will allow us to continue to invest in quality instructors, expanded courses, and new technology to bring these resources to you – in your home or in person.  It will allow us to continue to plan for the future, knowing we can make commitments to new programming.

Think about the value you receive from ALI.   Knowledge gained, a new interest discovered, good discussion with friends and neighbors, new friendships made, all because you signed up for a class. CLICK HERE for donation information.

In 2004, a small group of community leaders came together to give Chelsea and the surrounding community something new – a way to join their peers in affordable, convenient lifelong learning.  Help us continue that mission in this challenging time.
